Temperatures steady or falling. Winds north to northeast 10 to 15 mph, gusting to 25 mph.

Brief:

Low pressure near New York City early this morning will ripple northeastward, and the slug of moderate to heavy wintry precipitation with it will exit from southwest to northeast late this morning through early afternoon. Cold, dry weather will follow through Monday. Another vigorous low will bring at least snow showers to the state Tuesday and Wednesday. More substantial snow is possible—stay tuned for further developments.

Today: North 10-20 mph, with gusts to 30 mph in the Champlain Valley. Tonight: North diminishing to 5-15 mph. Sunday: North-northwest 5-15 mph. On Lake Champlain, the National Weather Service forecast is for north winds 20-25 kts decreasing to 15-20 kts during the afternoon. Tonight, northwest wind 10-20 kts decreasing to 5-15 kts after midnight. Sunday, north to northwest wind 5-10 kts. Waves 5-7 feet to start, decreasing to 4-6 feet in the afternoon, to 2-4 feet this evening, to 1-3 feet after midnight, and to 1-2 feet on Sunday.
