Richard W. Brown’s striking black and white photos are on view through the end of December, 2018. This exhibit of images reflects the intimate and often touching moments of farming life in Vermont’s rural Northeast Kingdom. Taken in the 1970s, the images appear to be a time machine that opens a window to a century earlier. Brown’s eye for picturesque landscapes, frames the rugged countryside with soft clouds and sweeping hills. The effect is both harsh and inviting.
These images are also in his most recent book, The Last of the Hill Farms: Echoes of Vermont’s Past.
