Dungeons and Dragons: Science Adventures at the Fairbanks Museum!
Join us for a science-based twist on this popular fantasy role-playing game. You’ll work as part of a team to complete a mission through old-school Dungeons and Dragons style storytelling. Add to the mix a hands-on component, using the museum grounds to follow clues and solve riddles. Guide heroes on quests, battle foes, and use your knowledge of the natural world to bring the game to life! Games are geared toward youth and all levels of experience are welcome. Quests will be led by ECO AmeriCorps member Molly Hanover at the Fairbanks Museum.
Contact Molly (firstname.lastname@example.org) to book a session for your family or group. Three to 6 participants per session. Sessions last approximately two to three hours. Please include your name, names and ages of people in your group, date/time you’d like to reserve for D&D, and the quest of your choice (Locust Curse or Martian Law).
The Locust Curse: An insect based Dungeons and Dragons game
In the little town of Hollow Hill, many species of insects have lived in harmony for as long as memories stand. But one year, a plague of locust swept through Hollow Hill, eating all the food, leaving your town on the brink of starvation. Someone must journey far away to find a new habitable home before all of the insects in Hallow Hill die. Will you be brave enough to face spiders and rivers, traps and troubles to save your village? Join us in our quest, and be a hero today!
Martian Law: A space based Dungeons and Dragons game
It is the year 2030. Earth is crumbling faster and faster every day. Oceans are rising, monsoons are devastating, and drought is worldwide. With Earth becoming more and more unsustainable, humanity must push forward, and explore Mars. The first team to Mars will face many unknown challenges, and need to work together as a team if there is any hope of surviving this harsh and alien climate. Are you willing to accept the challenge of pioneering a future for humanity?
