“Our Kingdom Taproom and Table Build It! Lab is a joyous romp through creative exploration,” says Adam Kane, executive director of the Fairbanks Museum, as he invites visitors to this new hands-on exhibit.
The Museum’s classroom, which is used by schools and students during the academic year, has been transformed by six action-packed stations that are all about construction. Each Build It! area encourages unstructured, imaginative play for muscles and minds. Stations include Medium Blue Blocks, Rigamajig, KEVA Planks, architectural wooden blocks, LEGOs, and K’NEX.
In the Build It! Lab, kids of all ages experiment with movement, gravity, form, balance, structure, and more through self-directed discovery. Most of all, this is a place to come again and again to try something new … and build something unique.
After the initial opening in the Fairbanks Museum this summer, Build It Lab stations will be available to libraries and community centers for temporary installation.
The Kingdom Taproom and Table Build It! Lab will be in place through August 2019. It is open every day and is free with Museum admission.
