The Fairbanks Museum was founded in 1889 by St. Johnsbury industrialist Franklin Fairbanks. Inside our classic Victorian building, you'll find a dazzling array of animals and artifacts, dolls an tools, shells and fossils, and much more! How does this summer's rainfall amount compare with past summers?  We recently calculated the St. Johnsbury total rainfall amount for this summer (June, July and August) and compared it to past years. To date this summer, we have had 19.01", easily making this the wettest summer on record. The old record was 18.44" set in 2006. Normal for a summer is 11.99". While the pattern this year could be of no significance in regard to climatology, Steve Maleski notes that 7 of the wettest years on record here in St. J have been in the past decade.
