Become A Weather Wizard!

Saturday, April 24, 2010

Designed especially for families, this weather workshop is offered as part of our Four Seasons Naturalist Program, encouraging you to observe, interpret and immerse yourself in the habitats that define our region.

Mark Breen will explore the challenges of observing the weather.  Just putting up a thermometer on the porch won’t cut it!  By delving into the details of how weather works, how instruments work, and how to keep track of your observations, you will be on your way to becoming a weather expert.  This adventure is designed for families, and the weather will be discussed without a lot of fancy jargon.  Find out about taming temperatures, registering rainfall, and handling the humidity among several others.  Your view will also be expanded to connect what you observe to what the weather is planning and scheming.  And to help you remember, you’ll receive a copy of Mark’s award-winning book, “The Kid’s Book of Weather Forecasting”, designed for kids of all ages.
$45 per family
